The 2016 visit of Pope Francis to Krakow, Poland.

The Holy Father Francis' five-day-long visit to Krakow is in connection with the World Youth Day planned in the city for July 26th through July 31st, 2016.

Pope Francis will arrive to Krakow in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 27th and will leave for Rome on Sunday, July 31st. In addition to Krakow, he will visit a couple of other places in Poland, namely the Czestochowa monastery and Oswiecim (Auschwitz).

Day 1.
Wednesday, July 27th, 2016.

- Afternoon. Holy Father Francis arrives at the John Paul II Airport in Balice.

- Pope Francis meets the president of Poland, a delegation of the Polish government, Polish bishops, the diplomatic corps, and other officials at the Wawel Royal Castle and the Krakow Cathedral.

Day 2.
Thursday, July 28th, 2016.

- Morning. Holy Father Francis visits one of Krakow's convents.

- Before noon. Pope Francis leaves for Czestochowa to visit the sanctuary of Jasna Gora and the Pauline monastery. His Holiness prays before the image of the Our Lady of Czestochowa and participated in the open-air Holy Mass commemorating the 1050th anniversary of the christening of Poland.

- 5.30 p.m. Pope Francis welcomes young pilgrims who arrived for the World Youth Day in Krakow.

Day 3.
Friday, July 29th, 2016.

- Morning. Pope Francis leaves for Oswiecim to visit the German nazi death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

- 5.30 p.m. Holy Father Francis presides over the Way of the Cross on the Krakow Blonia common.

Day 4.
Saturday, July 30th, 2016.

- Morning. His Holiness visits the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy and celebrates the Holy Mass for priests.

- Holy Father visits the Saint John Paul Sanctuary where he hears confessions (in Italian) of five Catholics from five continents.

- Pope Francis has a dinner in the Palace of Krakow Archbishops together with the representatives of young pilgrims from various parts of the world.

- 7.30 pm. His Holiness presides over the open-air vigil of prayers on the common in Brzegi.

Day 5.
Sunday, July 31st, 2016.

- Holy Father Francis celebrates an open-air Holy Mass on the common in Brzegi.

- His Holiness meets volunteers working for the 2016 World Youth Day. Venue: the Krakow Arena.

- 6 p.m. Pope Francis leaves for Rome from the Krakow airport.
