Swimming in Krakow 

Krakow can boast four public open-air swimming pools and an assortment of indoor swimming baths. The latter belong to sport clubs, municipal agencies, Krakow’s institutions of higher education, and other organizations. Also swimming holes in Krakow hotels are often available to the general public. Plus there is a water park in Krakow (Park Wodny) with water chutes and other wet attractions.

Open-air swimming-pools in Krakow are usually available from June to September. Conversely, the indoor swimming pools mostly close for summer.

Since the city’s swimming baths are overcrowded when the heat waves strike, the locals in landlocked Krakow preferably weather them on a lakeside. There are two supervised lakeshore bathing beaches with lifeguards within the city limits, on Bagry reservoir and in Przylasek Rusiecki area, but most popular is an artificial lake at Kryspinow just west of the city border. Yet actually people swarm to any swimable water hole, and many even dare to take a dip in places where bathing is explicitly banned.

Note: Rivers in Krakow, including Wisla, are unsuitable for swimming.

Basen AGH

at 4 Buszka street. Opening hours from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Regular rate is 10 zloties per hour, reduced rate 8 zloties per hour.
